Frequently Asked Questions

I have pets at my home/office. Is this OK?

Yes. Absolutely.

I don't have the software I want to learn. Can you bring your laptop with the software I want to learn for our training sessions?

No. You will need to have your own equipment and software for our training sessions. If you do not own the necessary software, you might consider downloading a trial version for the purposes of your training.

I would like to invite my friend, family, or co-worker to join my training session. Is group training billed at the same rate as private training?

Group training sessions are welcome upon prior arrangement. However, an additional fee is applied for each additional student. This fee is often as low at $5-10 per hour per student.

I don't have a comfortable location to conduct our training sessions. Do you have a location at which we can work?

DigitalMediaInstructor.com typically provides onsite training at your home, office or studio. However, upon special arrangement, I am happy to meet at a mutually agreed upon cafe, library or other comfortable location to conduct your training sessions. Students must provide their own laptop and be sure there is any necessary power and wifi connections that might be required for the training session.

Is training and technical support over the phone or by email available either before or after my training?

Unfortunately, no. As a single instructor, I am only able to provide instruction to a limited number of students at any given time by appointment. If you need instruction or technical assistance, please make an appointment and I will be happy to help you at that time. If you have a quick question you might consider booking a Remote Training session to meet your needs.

How long is a typical single training session?

Sessions are usually 3 hours in duration. This has proven to be a manageable and effective length for most students. Shorter sessions are available upon request and longer sessions are welcome.

I would like to schedule a short appointment of 1 or 2 hours. Is this billed at the same rate?

All appointments are billed at the same hourly rate. Please indicate your desired session length when making your appointment.

Do I qualify for a student discount on software or hardware as a student with DigitalMediaInstructor.com?

No, not at this time. Typically, only accredited schools, universities, and colleges are able to provide such discounts.

I am a former student at DigitalMediaInstructor.com and I need letters of recommendation / professional references. Are you willing to write letters of reference? Can I use you as a professional reference?

Yes. Students that have completed at least 12 hours of training may inquire via email about letters of recommendation for academic institutions as well as professional references at any time.
